Weston is hosting an international conference on the future of farming. Fireside Festival is supporting it by running an evening of speaker events for those who are not farmers but who are interested in the future of food production without invasive practices.
CHARLES DOWDING - NO-DIG GARDENING
6pm - Tickets £6 (or £10 inc. Dr. Jill Clapperton)
Imagine an abundant garden of delicious vegetables, created without lifting a spade. Imagine putting organic, flavoursome food on the kitchen table in a way that saves you time, respects the environment and sustains the soil – the life-blood of the garden. This is all possible, even in small spaces, so why not give it a go?
Join the award winning Charles Dowding as explains no-dig techniques for vegetable growing.
7:30pm - Tickets £6 (or £10 inc. Charles Dowding)
Dr. Jill Clapperton, USA, will explain the no-till method of farming and the benefits of soil regeneration.
Bud Davis with his rainfall simulator will show us that this method not only produces better food but also locks up carbon and minimizes flood damage.
