Ruby Wax in conversation with a
Buddhist monk and a neuroscientist
on life and sanity…with laughter.
While Ruby needs no introduction to
Fireside Festival (this is her third year,)
her companions this evening are:
Gelong Thubten is a Buddhist monk
from Samye Ling Tibetan Monastery.
He teaches mindfulness internationally,
training staff at Google and many
other major companies, as well as

providing classes in prisons, hospitals
and drug rehabilitation centres.
Dr. Ash Ranpura is a neuroscientist
and clinical neurologist who has
been active in brain research for over
20 years. He graduated from Yale
University, completed an M.D. at the
Medical College of Ohio, and carried
out his Ph.D. research at the Institute
of Cognitive Neuroscience in London.
